Welcome to a new semester! I hope your exams went well and you’re ready to embark on another exciting chapter in your GP training.
GPRA has some new events coming up in the next quarter so I encourage you all to scroll through this month’s newsletter and book in for new masterclass, exam support, NT events and another round of the popular addiction management webinar series which GPRA has partnered with St Vincents Health Australia.
This month we have been working closely with GPSA to finalise the review and update of the 2025-2026 National Terms and Conditions for the Employment of GP Registrars (NTCER) starting from Semester 1, 2025. Stay tuned for upcoming NTCER announcements. We expect to finalise and announce updates in the next few weeks. In addition to our work on the NTCER, I have been attending meetings with MPs to advocate for Australia’s future GP workforce..
At GPRA, we’re always looking for ways to keep all our members connected. We invite all fully qualified GPs/RGs – new and existing Fellows – whether you’re currently practising, have recently moved on from GPRA, or it’s been a while since you were part of our community, to reconnect and re-engage through our new GPRA Alumni Network.
In addition to the network’s exciting Spotlight Webinar Series and New-Fellows Masterclass events, I invite you to join us on 20 November in Perth for our inaugural GPRA Alumni Network function, which promises to be an informal way of catching up with colleagues.
Another fantastic upcoming GPRA event is the Northern Territory Annual Registrars’ Forum, taking place from 6-8 September in Darwin. This event will provide NT registrars with additional education, cultural safety, and peer-to-peer support, and will also celebrate the inaugural GPRA NT Scholarship award winners. You can read about the scholarship recipients below and in upcoming newsletters.
I hope you all have a great semester, and as always, we’re here to support you along your GP/RG journey.
Warm regards,
