GPRA launches new suite of exam resources to support GP registrars (all pathways)
General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA) has unveiled a new suite of exam preparation resources designed to support GP registrars across all training pathways.
Developed by newly Fellowed GPs and registrar peers, these resources offer flexible, affordable, and high-quality study options tailored to trainee needs.
The suite includes updated editions of GPRA’s widely used Clinical Cases and Written Exam books, an interactive clinical cases response practice app in partnership with eMedici, and a live Exam Prep Webinar series led by GP Lyf Hacks podcasters in May 2025.
GPRA President Dr Chris Dickie emphasised the organisation’s commitment to accessible and cost-effective exam preparation.
“Exam prep shouldn’t be expensive,” he said. “GPRA’s new exam preparation suite is about providing registrars with flexible, affordable, and high-quality study options informed by peers tailored to their needs.
“Our new resources cater to both ACRRM and RACGP curriculums, making them valuable tools not only for GP registrars but also for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) and those on the Fellowship Support Program (FSP) about to sit their exams.
“GPRA now offers innovative and affordable options for exam prep keeping costs down for future GPs.
“I was part of the testing for the new interactive app developed with e-Medici, and the real-time feedback against curriculum and guidelines on clinical case responses is excellent for exam practice.
“By ensuring affordability and relevance, we are giving registrars the best possible chance to succeed.”
With a focus on interactivity and contemporary learning methods, the suite includes the following cost-effective options for GPRA’s GP registrar members:
- eMedici Subscription (available from 2 April) – GPRA members can receive a 20% discount on this interactive app and desktop platform featuring over 100 clinical cases mapped to College curriculums. Registrars can practice responses in exam-style scenarios and receive instant feedback aligned with clinical guidelines, helping them refine their decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- New Editions of GPRA’s Clinical Cases and Written Exam eBooks (available early May 2025 but can register interest now) – These fully updated editions provide comprehensive exam preparation strategies, incorporating recent case studies, structured responses, and key topic areas critical for success for ACRRM and RACGP registrars.
- Exam Prep Webinar Series (5, 12, 19 May 2025) – A three-part live series led by experienced and highly-regarded GPs Dr David Lam and Dr Esther Lam from the popular GP Lyf Hacks podcast. This series will cover key exam topics, provide opportunities for peer discussions, and include interactive clinical case analysis to deepen understanding and build exam confidence. Register now.
“These resources have been developed by doctors for future doctors, integrating contemporary learning methods such as real-time feedback and interactive group sessions,” said Dr Dickie.
“We’re excited to offer these dynamic and interactive online learning tools to support registrars on their journey toward Fellowship,” he said.
“With flexible study options, real-time feedback, and peer-led content, we are setting a new standard in exam preparation resources.
“By offering multiple study options, including interactive group webinars, a user-friendly app, and standalone e-books, we are making high-quality exam preparation more accessible than ever before.”
GPRA’s partnership with eMedici provides registrars with a high-quality, interactive learning experience at a fraction of the cost of comparable products on the market.
eMedici Directors Dr Hannah Pham and Dr Toby Zerner said the company was thrilled to partner with GPRA, offering eMedici’s interactive digital education technology to support the delivery of the GPRA Clinical Cases app.
“This technology has already been utilised by thousands of medical students across Australia, giving us confidence that it will enhance the exam study experience for GP registrars,” Dr Pham and Dr Zerner said.
“We are especially pleased that eMedici technology can help connect GP registrars with their remote study partners, making collaborative learning more accessible and effective.”
