Media Release
2 April 2025
General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with eMedici, a leading provider of online medical education resources, to deliver the new 4th Edition GPRA Clinical Cases resource in a cost-effective, digital interactive web and app format.
The collaboration provides future GPs with an innovative, interactive learning and feedback experience designed to support exam preparation practice and clinical skills development.
Launched today (2 April), the new GPRA Clinical Cases resource is now available for future GPs to subscribe to online via the eMedici platform.
The eMedici version includes some 40 case discussions and 63 simulated consultations, offering future GPs a flexible and dynamic way to prepare for the Australian general practice clinical exams, delivered by both ACRRM and RACGP.
This resource will complement the new digital version of the updated GPRA Written Exams Book, which will be available from May 2025.
eMedici is currently formally partnered with eight medical schools across Australia (UNSW, UND, UoW, Monash, UWA, Deakin, Curtin Uni, Bond) who use eMedici resources in medical student education.
GPRA President Dr Chris Dickie welcomed the partnership, highlighting the benefits of the new format.
“I was part of the testing for the new interactive app developed with eMedici, and the real-time feedback against curriculum and guidelines on clinical case responses is excellent for exam practice,” he said.
“By ensuring affordability and relevance, we are giving registrars the best possible chance to succeed.
“With flexible study options, real-time feedback, and peer-led content, we are setting a new standard in exam preparation practice resources.”
The new digital GPRA Clinical Cases resource is available via web application and iOS and Android apps, ensuring registrars can study anytime, anywhere. Key features include:
- Interactive technology that supports both online and face-to-face study sessions
- Customisable study experience, allowing users to assign and swap roles such as Examiner, Candidate, Patient, or Observer
- Timed practice stations, with adjustable timing settings to replicate exam conditions.
- Tag-based case selection, enabling users to focus on specific case types, specialties, and curriculum units
- Rich multimedia integration, including images and detailed marking sheets
- Real-time feedback and references to current clinical guidelines
- Free ‘Examiner’ role access for each user subscription, allowing GP registrars to practise clinical cases with their GP colleagues without requiring an additional subscription.
Registrars can purchase a 3 or 6-month subscription to the digital GPRA Clinical Cases resource through the eMedici website, with a 20 per cent discount available for GPRA members booked into the GPRA Exam Webinar Series in May 2025.
eMedici Directors Dr Hannah Pham and Dr Toby Zerner said the company was thrilled to partner with GPRA, offering eMedici’s interactive digital education technology to support the delivery of the GPRA Clinical Cases app.
“This technology has already been utilised by thousands of medical students across Australia, giving us confidence that it will enhance the exam study experience for GP registrars,” Dr Pham and Dr Zerner said.
“We are especially pleased that eMedici technology can help connect GP registrars with their remote study partners, making collaborative learning more accessible and effective.”
