Northern Territory GP Registrar of the Year Award 2024

This award celebrates the life of Dr Debbie Stach, who died tragically in a car accident in 2004 soon after completing her GP training with the former Northern Training General Practice Education (NTGPE).

Debbie was an impressive young doctor whose commitment to Indigenous health made her stand out among her peers.

This $10,000 cash prize is awarded annually to a GP registrar and/or New Fellow who:

  • has an outstanding approach to medicine;
  • has demonstrated a commitment to improving Indigenous health outcomes in the Northern Territory, and;
  • has demonstrated an outstanding approach to professionalism in their work, education and training environments.

GP supervisors, GP registrars and colleagues can submit nominations for an individual they believe is deserving of the award.

Eligibility criteria
  • Nominee must be enrolled in the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) training program in the NT at the time of application

  • Nominee must demonstrate consistent professional behaviour and a commitment to continue working in the NT after the completion of GP training

  • Successful GP registrar must be willing to assist with the promotion of the AGPT program in the NT

  • Successful GP registrar must be willing to participate in key NT GPRA-based initiatives/forums as required.

Payment

$10,000 one-off cash prize awarded to one (1) GP registrar.
