General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA) and Heidi Health are proud to announce a strategic partnership that harnesses cutting-edge AI technology to support the next generation of general practitioners (GPs).
The collaboration will provide GPRA members with tools designed to streamline day-to-day administrative tasks, enhance efficiency, and allow clinicians to focus more on patient care.
Heidi Health is an AI medical scribe that automates clinical documentation, enabling GPs to generate accurate notes in real-time during patient consultations. It also facilitates the seamless creation of essential documents, such as referral letters and patient summaries, directly from consultation notes.
As part of this partnership, from 1 March 2025 Heidi Health will offer:
- Free access to Heidi Pro AI to all GPRA registrar (trainee) members
- A 10% discount (a saving of up to $129) for GPRA Alumni members (fellowed GPs)
By reducing the administrative burden, this initiative aims to support registrars through their training and ease the transition into independent practice.
GPRA President Dr Chris Dickie welcomed the collaboration, highlighting its potential to make a tangible difference in the daily lives of registrars and GPs.
“This partnership aligns with GPRA’s commitment to equipping our members – the future GPs of Australia – with the best resources to excel in their training and careers,” Dr Dickie said.
“By integrating Heidi Health’s AI-powered technology, we’re helping registrars streamline their workflow, save valuable time, and focus on what matters most — providing high-quality patient care.”
Heidi Health CEO Dr Thomas Kelly, himself once a surgical registrar, emphasised the impact AI-driven solutions can have on clinicians’ work-life balance.
“As someone who has walked a similar path as today’s registrars, I know first-hand how demanding and isolating these formative years can be,” Dr Kelly said.
“At Heidi, we’re committed to easing the pressures of clinical work by simplifying documentation and creating a supportive ecosystem for professional growth.
“We’re thrilled to partner with GPRA and champion the future of general practice together.”
Beyond providing AI-powered support, the partnership will include educational initiatives such as webinars, articles, and workshops, helping GPRA members integrate AI solutions into their daily practice.
GPRA will also promote Heidi Health’s services through newsletters, social media, and events, ensuring members can maximise the benefits of this collaboration.
“This partnership reflects a shared vision of innovation, education, quality patient care, and excellence in general practice, supporting GPs in delivering outstanding patient care,” added Dr Kelly.
