GPRA welcomes new President and Board Directors
Dr Chris Dickie
General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA) is proud to announce the election of Dr Chris Dickie as its incoming President, along with two new Board Directors, Dr Kim Omond and Dr Louis Charalambous.
Dr Dickie, who joined the GPRA Board as Director last year, will replace current GPRA President Dr Karyn Matterson from 1 January 2025.
Additionally, the Board thanks outgoing President Dr Matterson and Director Dr Kate McCabe-Simon for their dedication and valuable service.
Dr Dickie, a GP registrar based in New South Wales, brings to the presidency extensive experience in clinical practice, research, and advocacy.
Dr Dickie has been a steadfast advocate for registrars through his involvement with the Canberra Region Medical Education Council (CRMEC) and his previous work with the RACGP National Faculty of GPs in Training.
“It’s a privilege and a profound responsibility to serve as GPRA President,” said Dr Dickie.
“I’m eager to advocate for meaningful change, ensuring GPRA members have the support and resources they need throughout their journey to become the future GPs of Australia.”
