2018 NTCER negotiation date announced

The 2018 NTCER negotiations will take place soon

Negotiations for the National Terms and Conditions for the Employment of Registrars (NTCER) for the 2019/20 training years are currently in progress.

GPRA is well aware of the range of concerns GP registrars have raised in relation to the current NTCER. Input and advice from the GP registrar members on our NTCER Negotiation Reference Group, as well as IR/legal advice and the 2017 benchmarking survey have provided an evidence-base to inform GPRA’s position on a number of these issues. This has been provided to GPSA.

Representatives from GPRA will be meeting with the GPSA negotiation team on 7 July 2018 to undertake discussions and negotiation, chaired the AMA, on the issues raised by GPRA on behalf of registrars and also to respectfully consider any matters that GPSA may present. To date they have advised that the NTCER, in its current form, is balanced and fair and so they have no claims to submit.

The 2019/20 NTCER will be available no later than 1 October 2018 to inform registrar contract negotiations for terms in 2019. Contract negotiations typically occur in most regions of Australia from October to December. Read our advice if you are asked to sign an employment agreement before 1 October.

GPRA will provide ongoing updates, via email and through this eNewsletter, on the outcomes of the 2018 negotiations. We will also keep you informed of the progress toward implementing the 2019/20 NTCER
