GPRA exam needs report

The purpose of the exam needs survey was to better understand the needs of GP registrars within the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program preparing for general practice Fellowship in Australia. This is the first report of its kind conducted by General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA).

No matter when you are scheduled to sit the exams you are encouraged to use the report for your planning and preparation.

This report surveyed recent Fellows on both their actual and recommended study preparation timelines.

The survey also analysed barriers to effective study, suggested resources and self-care tips.

Top tips from respondents include:

  • start preparing and studying for the exams earlier
  • reduce stress levels during exam preparation
  • prepare and study with others via face-to-face or online.

In response to the results, GPRA has commissioned The general practice exam book. The book contains tips from GPs, how to approach your exams and a range of practice questions.

The book will be available in the coming months - look out for the announcement in the GPRA member enews.
