IGPRN and GPRA welcome Minister Wyatt as Minister for Indigenous Australians
Indigenous General Practice Registrars Network (IGPRN) and General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA) today congratulate the Honourable Ken Wyatt AM on his appointment as Minister for Indigenous Australians.
“It is a historic moment in Australian history to welcome the first Indigenous person to hold the position of Minister for Indigenous Australians,” said IGPRN Network Chair Dr Simone Raye.
“IGPRN has greatly appreciated the support from Minister Wyatt during his time in the Indigenous Health portfolio, and we extend our sincere congratulations as he commences his new position,” said Dr Simone Raye.
“GPRA warmly congratulates Minister Wyatt on his appointment as Minister for Indigenous Australians,” said GPRA President Dr Sama Balasubramanian.
“IGPRN and GPRA have a great working relationship with Minister Wyatt, through his work as former Minister for Indigenous Health and trust that as the new Minister for Indigenous Australians he will continue to work towards ‘Closing the Gap’,” said Dr Balasubramanian.
“Minister Wyatt’s appointment is an opportunity to build on existing Indigenous health initiatives and ensure on-the-ground outcomes are achieved—GPRA is committed to supporting Minister Wyatt in achieving positive health outcomes,” said Dr Balasubramanian.
